ABOUT DONNA

Donna Spangler lives in Beverly Hills and is known for her expertise in financial affairs, relationships, and the glamorous lifestyle she continues to lead.  She is the ultimate Beverly Hills Business Barbie.  She was even written up in the Beverly Hills courier for her likeness to the Barbie doll and called “The Beverly Hills Barbie.” (July 18, 2008)  The socialite regularly attends charities, political events and red carpet affairs where she has to present herself as her personal best. Donna is not just another pretty face though she has a multitude of interests and talents and has worked hard to get where she is.

Donna was born and raised in southern California and grew up in Hollywood. Throughout the years Donna has had lots of animals including dogs, cats, rats, fish, bunnies, birds, squirrels, hamsters, and pigs. She started her career in modeling while studying psychology at UCLA, where a photographer discovered her and shot her for the cover of a local magazine. Shortly thereafter she began profession work in commercials, TV shows, and movies.  Soon after, she became a Playboy bunny. In her lucrative career, she has also been a model for posters, billboards campaigns, calendars, catalogues and commercials. The former pin-up model did not feel that her acting career was moving towards the exciting roles that she craved, and realizing that she wanted control over her career destiny, she decided to start creating her own shows. Donna took a writing boot camp and studied production in all aspects. She started out producing comedy videos and various other productions including “The Bubbleheads”, and “The California girl workout”. Donna founded TVwebNetwork where she showcased webisodes of SCANDALS which Donna wrote, acted in, directed, shoot and edited her web show. Re-runs can be seen on KNBSTV.

On top of Donna’s producing and acting credits, she also caught the eye of BBC producers who profiled her in a documentary; “Secret Map of Beverly Hills,” which aired in the United Kingdom and throughout the USA. She also did a show for VH1 where she was profiled for her producing and directing and as an author. Most recently Donna was on ARDE, the biggest German TV Network in a documentary about her lifestyle as her current projects in production.

Donna created and wrote the feature length movie “SPACE GIRLS IN BEVERLY HILLS.” She played the lead Space girl, Katana, which had its successful west coast premiere at Regency Fairfax Cinema July 31, 2009. The East coast premiere was in October of 2009 at the New York International Film and Video Festival. Donna also showcased her new project “Pets of the Rich and Famous” which was screened in the festival. As executive producer she also hosted in the show about unusual comedic and glamorous pet lives and the relationship with their owners.

Donna has been seen in a plethora of movies, and been profiled on MTV, VH1, Bravo, and E! She appeared in films such as “Blades of Glory,” “Forces of Evil,” “Guns,” “Matilda,” “In Living Color,” “Blossom,” and “Dinosaur Valley Girls.”  Known internationally, Donna has been seen on a popular German entertainment show “Taff” for several episodes in the series “Luxury Ladies” where she is profiled in and around Beverly Hills and in Europe at the Cannes Film festival with her four other Luxury Ladies cast members.

Some of Donna’s other projects were “Social-lights,” which also premiered in Los Angeles and the New York International Film Festival. Donna produced her film “Weather Girls,” which screened at the Cannes short film corner and she appeared on the largest French TV Channel Canal Plus promoting it. She not only produced, but also stared in the comedy as Mandy Lane, one of the weather girls who lands a job at a low rated network along with Candy Mann (Lynne Langdon), and Brandy Shots (Simona Fusco). Together the unskilled girls turn the ratings at the network from drab into the highest rated network ratings in history. Also, while in Cannes for the festival, Donna’s busy schedule included: the filming for a reality TV show for Great Britain, a Canadian TV commercial for Niki Beach, and a high fashion photo shoot for Zoom magazine.

Donna is a relationship authority and author of the book How to Get a Rich Man “The Princess Formula” which delves into finding a man who is rich in spirit and heart with financial stability and strength completing the picture. Donna has been a guest on numerous radio and TV shows across the US and Canada and Eastern Europe and completed a book tour ‘down under’ to Australia and New Zealand and Bulgaria, where she was a hit on TV programs, radio shows and featured in newspaper articles. Spangler has had her book published around the world in several languages. She is in the process of writing another book about how to achieve beauty.

Former playboy model turned actress, filmmaker and author Donna Spangler brings her diverse experiences to her position as Festival Director for the second year of the Beverly Hills Film TV and New Media Festival which far exceeded all expectations last year and with a celebrities list in attendance such as Sharon Stone, Paul Sorvino, Joan Collins, Jacky Warner, Cindy Margolis, Jenn Proske, Seymour Cassel and many others.

Through her extensive network of personal and professional relationships, Spangler played an integral role in putting together the event that kicks off with an opening Night Honorary Awards Ceremony and celebrates the lifetime achievement of the honorees.

Donna, who was a pioneer with her one woman productions of web episodes before there was even a name for webisodes, helped pave the way for independent filmmakers and content creators. She felt that having a festival that encompasses and celebrates the combination of Film, TV and New Media was a way to honor and unite that which is the future in technology we have today.

Always an entrepreneur, Spangler realized there was an opportunity to grow along with the expanding entertainment industry by bringing the Beverly Hills Film TV and New media Festival to the city she calls home. Spangler worked closely with Festival Programing Director Nicole Holland to create a unique festival with a mission to discover, showcase, and celebrate the work of today’s up-and-comers, along with established professionals and tomorrow's industry leaders. The first of its kind in Beverly Hills, the international event runs from Oct 20 to Oct 27.

Donna Spangler is also not a stranger to the beauty industry. For years Donna was a bikini and workout model appearing in numerous posters calendars, catalogues and commercials. She belonged to the playboy model agency which required her success to be contingent on her body and face being the best that it could be. Whenever a client wanted a great body and facial image for their product they would call the playboy model agency.

During this time, Donna realized that there were things that she could do to help keep her at the top of her game as well as beauty methods and techniques that she learned, developed and used to keep her face and body looking great.

Donna was always asked by friends and colleagues how she continuously maintained her great figure youthful face, often counseling her friends on what she did to achieve this.
